B2P asks what is happening to the employment market place? Could the recent rise in Apprentice Schemes be a result of employers of UK companies rating qualified apprentices as 15% more employable than those with other qualifications? Then there’s recent CIPD research which has suggested the increase in graduate numbers have outstripped the creation of more high-skilled jobs and as a result the UK has too many over-qualified graduates entering non-graduate jobs. So this begs the question what jobs will our qualified graduates end up doing?

From B2P’s perspective we have certainly seen a surge in very qualified applications being received from candidates with BSc and MSc qualifications applying for our customers Apprentice positions.

So what will employers do?

Will they select applicants for their Apprentice programmes from the pool of highly-qualified applicants?

Or will they choose the ‘genuine’ Apprentice candidates?

What would you do?
