Are you a qualified L5/6 childcare practitioner, working with children and young people, with previous management experience, across a multi-site environment? 

This vacancy will appeal to an experienced senior practitioner, who has held a similar position across a multi-site environment and is qualified to L5/6 (or equivalent) in working with children and young people.

Ideal candidates will be Ofsted and EYFS competent, possess strong finance skills and have previous experience of managing P&L’s.  They’ll be strategic thinkers with a proactive ‘can do’ attitude, working to deliver deadlines through teams in a measured and competent manner.

This is a fixed-term management position (covering maternity leave) commencing on 1st May 2020, reporting to the Board of Directors and is based in Old Windsor with regular travel to other locations within a 15 mile radius.

The General Manager role is an integral part of their dynamic team, reporting to the Board of Directors and requires a driven, focussed and motivated individual who will be responsible for overseeing all Gap Club Business Units across their various locations and accountable for the growth and profitability of the Company.

 

The mix of work is estimated as 60 % management and 40% childcare related, therefore commercial acumen is a key requisite, in addition to possessing strong leadership skills and having the ability to influence, take ownership and drive change.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Defining policies and procedures to support Governance and main contact for all escalations.
  • Ensure all Business Units have clear corporate goals and maintain quality childcare services.
  • Setting and monitoring budgets and spend, regular reporting (e.g. KPI’s, P&L).
  • Deliver sales opportunity initiatives to increase customer-base and grow TGC P&L.
  • Responsible for overseeing and leading their employees to include; interviewing, career progression and development, to encourage and enable optimum performance of their people.
  • Oversee all operations in all business units meeting industry regulation and compliance.
  • Responsible for ensuring childcare outcomes and curriculum impact meet and exceed Ofsted and EYFS requirements maintaining their Outstanding position.

 

On offer is an attractive annual basic salary between £26,000 – £29,000 (negotiable subject to experience), discounted childcare, uniform, pension, 28 days annual holiday entitlement and a 100% company commitment to personal development.
