A successful and award winning, specialist interior glass contractor established in 2002 and based in Derby, is seeking an experienced, technical-construction sales professional to join their team and to support ambitious growth plans. This is a full time technical and consultancy position, offering a competitive basic, uncapped commission plan and car allowance. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will be based in Derby with travel throughout the UK.

Previous experience of managing project sales within the specialist sub-contracting, construction and/or engineering sector.   

You will have a previous track record of working in a business sales position and experience of managing a sales territory.

Ability to build and develop customer relationships with existing customer accounts, qualify and convert new business clients and opportunities.

Maximising sales activities through:- Client Database, Revenue, Order Entry and Gross Margin.

Achieving against agreed performance targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

Maintaining accurate and complete records, including regular and timely updates and sales forecasts. 

Adhering to company sales, governance and compliance processes and maintaining a thorough understanding of all company products and services.

Key to this role will be having a highly developed technical capability that can be translated into a commercial sales role.

Construction industry knowledge is paramount to include: commercial, project management, design process, programming, building regulations, estimating, H&S and be able to identify projects and assist Architects with specifications.

You will possess strong negotiation, influencing and communication skills and be confident to present and provide a high level of service to our customers, suppliers and key stakeholders at all levels. 

Ideal candidates will have a high level of IT literacy, be highly numerate and confident to accurately manipulate numerical information, including reporting and budgeting.

A BTEC HNC, HND or degree first (or equivalent) in relevant subjects such as: building studies, engineering, surveying, structural/civil or construction engineering management, building management or building technology is desirable.

A willingness to travel throughout the UK and hold a valid UK/EU Drivers licence is essential, as is holding or eligible to obtain security clearance (e.g. enhanced DBS security clearance).
