Coaching or mentoring? The focus is similar; challenging, stretching and empowering.Mentoring Services & Mentoring Programmes

In the main the differences are that in a coaching relationship the coach does not need to have detailed industry knowledge or experience of the coachee’s role to deliver effective results.

In a mentoring relationship, the mentor is generally more experienced than the person they are mentoring and takes a more ‘directive’ approach during sessions, offering to share experiences, knowledge and skills (notwithstanding that this is a 2-way street and the mentor can often learn and benefit from these experiences too!).

The benefits of having a mentor ‘or role model’ are also similar:-

  • Receiving recognition and encouragement
  • Motivation to learn and develop new skills
  • Increased confidence and self-esteem
  • Heightened performance and development of strengths

This personal and professional growth translates to new ways of learning and thinking and ultimately positively impacts on engagement and organisational performance.

At Breakthrough2Performance we can offer mentoring programmes focussed on many aspects of workplace HR practices.

Do you have a management or HR group that could benefit from a mentoring programme designed to develop skills, open doors and offer clarity of goals?

Building a strong mentor / mentee relationship is key to ensure maximum benefit is achieved.  We can offer flexibility in the timing and/or frequency of sessions, locations (in-house or off-site) the choice is yours.  All programmes include telephone and email support and the option to include psychometric assessment material.
